The Opportunity

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides comprehensive and personalized Mental Health services to patients remotely. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care through compassion and dedication to high quality.

Working as a Full Time employed member of a care team for Teladoc Health, the Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive and personalized healthcare services to patients remotely. This role delivers exceptional patient care with compassion and dedication. provides best in class virtual patient care via video and telephonic appointments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual patient assessments, including collecting medical history, and diagnosing and treating common Mental Health illnesses.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with patients.
  • Order, interpret and provide appropriate follow up for diagnostic tests, such as laboratory work, to aid in diagnosis and treatment decisions.
  • Prescribe appropriate medications and therapies, adhering to evidence-based guidelines and considering patient preferences and limitations.
  • Monitor patient progress, assess outcomes, and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans to optimize patient care.
  • Provide patient education and support, including answering questions, addressing concerns, and promoting healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, specialists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) for all patient encounters.
  • Stay current with advancements in healthcare technology, telemedicine practices, and relevant professional guidelines and standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in virtual care.

Qualifications Expected for Position

  • Board Certification by ANCC or AANP · Post-Masters Graduate Certificate in Psychiatric-Mental Health
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license and certification in the state where the virtual Mental Health practice is based.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of post-graduate clinical experience as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with either a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) mandatory
  • Active Prescriptive authority and DEA and/or CDS number
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a virtual setting, demonstrating strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with patients and interdisciplinary teams remotely.
  • Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly evolving virtual care practices and embrace innovative technologies. · Dedication to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
  • Required license or credential needed to perform job.
  • Willingness to be licensed in multiple states.
  • No disciplinary actions within the last 5 year
